Without the bridge bude ukrainský postup pomalý.

KYJEV, BRATISLAVA. When the Kachovská dam was destroyed in June in the south of Ukraine, the water from it almost completely flooded the village of Krynky. Once a village with about a thousand inhabitants on the eastern bank of the Dnieper quickly became a place from which the Russians could spy on the western bank of the river under Ukrainian control.

However, the situation is starting to change, and not only Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but also Russian war bloggers are writing about Ukrainian pressure and Russian concessions.

Until now, Ukrainian troops have regularly crossed the Dnieper – often small groups of soldiers at night swam to the eastern shore to avoid the attention of Russian drones, but attacked Russian positions and then returned.

Information from the village of Krynky, however, indicates that the Ukrainians already managed to create a permanent bridgehead here, and Ukrainian troops can now push the Russian army farther from the shore. In addition, the Ukrainian army, according to its spokesman, is already preparing surprises for the occupiers even before winter.

  • what is important when crossing the river,
  • why did the Russian army protect its own soldiers,
  • ako ruskú techniku ničí “baba yaga”,
  • what chance does Ukraine have for success?

Destroyed tanks and dead soldiers

Before the deadline, Ukraine was given the opportunity to liberate the Kherson region on the west bank of the Dnieper, when the Russian army withdrew to the other bank. However, the front line in Ukraine has changed minimally since then – the Ukrainian counter-offensive could not gain more than a few tens of square kilometers, mostly in the south-east of Ukraine, while the Russian army expanded the occupied territory of Ukraine by 0.08 percent since the beginning of the war, the New York Times reports.

However, if the advance of the Ukrainian army near the village of Krynky continues, it may be the most significant advance in recent months on the entire front.
