Several army doctors and paramedics have complained about the commander’s work in the last few months.
On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Major General Teťjana Ostashchenko from the post of commander of the Ukrainian Army’s medical forces. She was the first woman to hold this position. TASR took over administration from agency DPA.
“The level of medical support of our army must be fundamentally changed,” Zelensky said in his regular speech. He added that Ostashchenko will be replaced by Anatoly Kazmirchuk, who until now served as the director of the military hospital in Kyiv.
Ostačšenkov was appointed commander of the zdravotnickych síl armády in 2021, the deadline before the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The DPA introduced that more and more army doctors and health workers have already complained about its work in the last few months. About týždňom internetový portál Ukrainska pravda informed that the Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov wanted to ask for her recall.
