PARIS. France announced that it successfully tested the M51.3 strategic ballistic missile without a nuclear warhead on Saturday.
The French Ministry of Defense announced that a test launch of a rocket was carried out from the Landes department in the south of France.

The Navy tracked the missile throughout the flight, with the missile eventually landing in the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean, hundreds of kilometers from any land, the Defense Department said.
“The first successful trial firing of the M51.3 strategic ballistic missile. This development confirms the trustworthiness of our nuclear deterrence,” said French Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu on social network X (previously Twitter).
